I had a great reception to my Anti-Batman Club pic :

I was all ready doodling some X-Men Characters for a friend so thought I would go all out and draw all of the characters from the Jim Lee/Whilice Portacio relaunch in the early 1990's...
Jean Grey
Professor X

I have such fond memories of this era in the X-Men--Jim Lee's initial 10-12 issue run on the new "blue" team was my absolute favorite!

BLUE TEAM!!! Because it has all my favorites (except Psylocke, I am not so fond of her - yet).
I am becoming very X-men obsessed, of course I have known movies for some years, but now I am reading comics on internet, starting with X-men vol. 2 #1 (I am around #26 right now, so still long way to go which is just great :D).

Psylocke always seems dull...I love the look and design but never got into her either...

Have you seen X-Men First Class? I had very low expectations and was BLOWN AWAY. It was great.

I second what you say about Psylocke. She's kind of annoying.
Yeah, I've seen The First Class and loved it. I had the HIGHEST expectations from it, cause from Stardust and Kick-Ass I trust Matthew Vaughn's skills :D. He did a great job - though I think he has quite different style than Brian Singer. It's eternal shame that Matthew didn't do X3. That movie is a DISGRACE of X-men.

Oh wow! This is so awesome! The Blue/Gold-era was what introduced many modern fans to the X-Men so it's always fun revisiting those days with pieces like this. I love the way Storm looks here... and especially love that she takes up quite a bit of space perhaps suggesting her importance as the co-leader of the X-Men during that time. After all, writers these days seem to primarily use her as a cameo character and are instead using Wolverine in a role that Storm normally fulfilled in the upcoming Schism storyline.

There's a lot of personality in each of the characters' looks here. Gambit's got that smouldering Luke Perry bad boy squint going on (ah yes, Gambit was so much cooler back then when we didn't know he played a role in the massacre of the Morlocks) and that slightly optimistic look on Scott's face definitely reminds me of a time when he wasn't a complete douche. Although, the females of this piece truly hog most of the spotlight. Rogue looks great with that sweet smile, Jean looks radiant (is her hand on Scott's butt?) and I love Psylocke's more serious expression. But, of course, I think Beast stands out most (aside from Storm). His playful pose and big grin definitely embody his personality perfectly. Great job!

YES! I wanted Storm to look important--she was the leader of the Gold team, right?

Agreed a million percent on the Gambit thing--I loved it when Cable or Bishop (can't remember who) came back remembering that Gambit in the future was not a good person--but you didnt know the event why...

Yes, Jean's hand is on Scott's behind, LOL!

Beast was fun...I need a spark in that side of the composition so I decided to flip him around :D

Thanks for your really insightful comments...I really appreciate it :)
